Aditya Chiruthapudi, from the batch of 2015, currently working as an HR Business Partner at Wipro speaks about his life after SIBM B
So, here it goes.
The learnings from an MBA at SIBM-B are as under:
1) You can be sure to impress your managers and colleagues with a fancy
PPT at the office
2) Every board meeting of yours will have four 'quadrants'
depicting the ideal model of a concept.
3)You will finally know what words like "strategy" and
"ROI " mean.
Of course you may barely use all these as progressive tools throughout
your career.
The real learning during MBA @ SIBM-B takes place outside classrooms. I
had the luck of working with the SRC - Social responsibility committee and leading
it. I got to see real concepts of management put to work.
Especially being in
HR, these experiences turned out to be valuable to my career.
-Managing and working with a team
- Picking the right members for the committee
- Idea formation: We brainstormed and changed the concept of
Utthaan at SIBM-B and the students' outlook on social work.
- Working with the SIBM-B management and leadership to get things done
(around budgeting, resource planning and timely execution)
-We built strong relationships with external stakeholders like the
Rotary Club and involved them in our activities.
I also actively volunteered for all the college events like TEDx,
Revelations , Utopia, Street plays and saw what impact it could make. These, I
would say, are the true learnings that one should look for and take away from
SIBM-B.I urge you all to strive to gain these experiences because SIBM-B has
them all.
All you have to do is look for it!
For me it was not just an MBA. It was an experience.
