Bangalore, Karnataka – Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bengaluru, conducted “Symbriksha 2013”, an initiative conducted by SIBM to spread awareness about the importance of tree plantation.
The event was to take place at Turahalli Forest which is situated on the outskirts of the city. Dressed in green and white brought in the feeling of belonging to the nature. People of every age cadre starting from 5 to 50 were contributing their share of responsibility to Mother Earth. With great enthusiasm and energy; the team was split into groups of five and learnt how to embrace and nurture the nature. They walked across the empty land with a sapling, a shovel and left to make an impact.

At first the sapling were freed of its conformity and reunited to its rightful womb. After which she was carefully covered and patted down. Everyone had the feeling of self accomplishment and pride that they made a difference to that one sapling. The goal for the day was to pant over 400 saplings. Once the planting was completed everybody contributed as a team to make a human water chain to enrich our saplings.

After the strenuous work, an appetizing brunch of bananas and biscuits were served to all. At the end the NGO head helped them explore the highest point of the forest and distinguished between the concrete walls of the city to the tender welcoming lush green forest. Overall, Symbriksha was an excellent learning experience for all which left them with food for thoughts.
