JoyFest @ SIBM Bangalore

Bangalore, Karnataka, September 27, 2010 – The Social Responsibility Committee of SIBM Bangalore organized ‘Joyfest’, an event where the students visited a local government school to spend a day with the underprivileged children, and conducted various learning activities for them.

A total of 27 volunteers from the college interacted with the school children from nursery to Std. VII. The team conducted a card-making event wherein students from nursery to Std. III were assisted in making Diwali greeting cards. The entire stationary including pencils, erasers, colours etc. were provided for this purpose. Some games such as ‘Bomb in the city’ and ‘Blindfold game’ were also conducted for the students, who displayed great teamwork. This was followed by distribution of chocolates. The school children in turn performed a small act for the volunteers. The entire team also had lunch with them.

‘Joyfest’ is one of the many CSR initiatives that the Social Responsibility Committee of SIBM-B has undertaken. Such events not only help the students give back to the community, but also help them develop holistically as management students.
