Colossus @ SIBM Bangalore

Bangalore (Karnataka) - February 27, 2011

Battles had raged; Challenges were taken up; Fun was galore; but the war was won by all. Colossus 2011 has officially ended, but for SIBM Bangalore it’s just a start for something even colossal coming up in near future.

After the end of first day, where there were Salsa lessons; a LAN gaming event; special stunt performances by ‘Club Raging Demons’; on-spot events like Puzzle solving, Sudoku and Photography etc.; two management events – an HR event called ‘Callidus’ won by Welingkar Mumbai and the State Bank of India Colossus Quiz won by Christ University; a group dance competition won by the home team – who performed Bhangra; and a fashion show which saw guys and girls from all Bangalore colleges presenting themselves; the second day brought quite a lot of it and more.

The second day began with the Level 2 of Salsa workshop and the finals of the LAN gaming event. Then SIBM students kept the ball rolling with various on-spot events. But the heat increased with MTV conducting Tac-Tac fun games, which were enjoyed thoroughly by all participants. This was followed by the Street Basketball finals won by Mahavir Jain College. The next competition was an RJ hunt competition wherein two famous RJ’s from RadioCity gave various tasks to participants and in the end chose a worthy winner.

After all the fun events, time came for the grand finale of the two big management events. Branded – the marketing event saw teams coming from IIM K, IIFT Delhi, Christ University and SIBM Bangalore. In the end, SIBM Bangalore’s team took the top honors, with Christ coming close second. The second management event of the day was ‘Symbiosis Business Bazaar’. Mahavir Jain College was adjudged the final winner of the event, with Christ University coming close second.

The second last event of the day was a work of the partnership of an NGO Youth United and SIBM Bangalore, wherein underprivileged children showcased their talents to audience which cheered them with all passion. And the day ended in true SIBM Bangalore fashion – with a Bang! Top bands from Bangalore (including Distortion Culture, Blood Orchid and Velvet Trap) performed in the SIBM auditorium: as any SIBM Bangalorean would say – “it’s just the beginning!”
